In 1986, I went to Kenya and enjoyed the trip of a lifetime. I enjoyed it so much that I went back in 1987. My friend Limo, Consul General of the Kenyan Consulate, said: “If you like the country so much, I will give you contacts so that you can lead group tours to Kenya.” And, for over 10 years I did just that – led group safaris to Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
In 2004, my friend Tommy and I rented an apartment in an 18th century farmhouse located on the grounds of a small medieval village in the Tuscany area of Italy. We used the local public transportation to get to and from Florence. Our adventures included forays to local markets to stock our picnic basket, drives on the autostrada, and sightseeing adventures to explore Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa as well as other beautiful Tuscan villages. Upon my return home I knew I was in love with Italy. I began my study of the Italian language and have returned to Italy three times; each time returning with new wonderful friends and important travel contacts.
After working in administrative positions in the private sector and legal department of local government for many years I retired and have resumed my true passion – traveling and introducing fellow travelers to a beautiful country, its culture, its history and its people.
